Surrounded by rolling green countryside and a little off the beaten track, Clyst Hydon is an attractive village only 10 miles from Exeter.

The cottagey garden in front of the entrance is quite a sight in spring and summer when the thousands of flowers and the big window boxes and hanging baskets are at their prettiest.

To the side and up some steps there are plenty of tables to choose from in the large, colourful and relaxing beer garden with pleasant views of the surrounding countryside.

This year we started to cultivate our own vegetable patch that is now providing the kitchen with a few specially selected ingredients.

Pssttt - Next door to us is a charming little outdoor swimming pool. It’s certainly one way to sharpen your appetite!
