Just a little email to say thanks for the wonderful food & service you provided to our family group yesterday lunchtime.

There were 10 of us booked in at 1.45pm to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were all made to feel very welcome. The service & food were both excellent, as were the surroundings. Every single person in our group thought your staff & the food were wonderful. Please pass our thanks onto everyone involved for making it a very special occasion.

Apologies for the time it has taken to get back to you. But we just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou for a fabulous day. Once again we were extremely impressed with the excellent service, professionalism, friendliness and superb quality of food.

Everyone was blown away by the quality of food. We live in London and don't want to sound like it's the centre of the earth, as you can be spoilt. But the food your chefs served was outstanding! The pork belly was just amazing and desserts exceptional just as an example. We were so lucky to find you when we did and one of your bar staff showed how excellent your customer service is. So thankyou. If there is a website where we can give a review then please let us know. Many thanks again and hope we get an opportunity to visit again.

We visited Five Bells for lunch last Thursday 29th May. We realised after we came away that we had not really passed on to anyone our full appreciation of the meals, the tasteful re-refurbishment of our (once again!) favourite pub, and most importantly the friendly welcome and attention we received.

This was particularly so as our brother in law is confined to a wheelchair which thankfully presented us with no problems given the new entrance and the table allotted to us; not to mention the welcome as we arrived. We have been occasional visitors over many years and have lots of happy memories of special occasions at the Five Bells and hopefully we will add to these in the future. So thank you again and we hope to be able to visit again in the not too distant future.

As the owners of a mid-Devon B&B, we are always on the look out for good restaurants and pubs to recommend to our guests. After lunch today at the newly reopened Five Bells, we are delighted to be able to make a very positive recommendation about this pub.

The luncheon menu was comprehensive and the food was excellent in all regards. The service was impeccable and friendly. The surroundings are very up-to-date with a minimalist feel although the original features of this ancient pub have been carefully retained. We had a lovely lunch and will return ourselves very soon (but for the sake of my waistline, please go easy with the delicious home-made chips!)

Had dinner here last night. What a delight. Great food, Christopher Piper's wines, nice decor, friendly and welcoming staff. What more could you ask for. I had the duck breast, cooked to perfection. My husband had what he claims was the 'best' burger he has ever had in Britain. The icing on the cake was the arrival of 8 of the Exeter Chiefs for a promotion of the Heineken Cup. Can life get any better than that? We didn't think so. Thanks to the staff for making it such a lovely evening.

We had a marvelous dinner at the Five Bells on Monday night, and were very impressed that after only 7 weeks you were pretty full on a Monday! Just a quick email to thank-you, Harry and the team for an excellent evening last night in helping us celebrate Tina's 50th Birthday celebrations. The service, food, setting and all round atmosphere was fantastic. Most of our party had not visited The Five Bells since the recent refurbishment and everyone was extremely complimentary of what you have done. I cannot fault the transformation of the five bells, recently refurbished and reopened under the same ownership as the Jack in the Green near Exeter. Very stylish, great service and superb cooked to order fantastic Gastropub food. Each of us had 3 superb courses which were faultless. The location is excellent, don't miss a trip here if you live anywhere between Tiverton and Exeter, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait for a return visit before long.
